City Club Casino Review

City Club Casino is a name that is not as familiar to me as the many other Playtech casinos that I’ve frequented and played at over the years but it is nevertheless it has an excellent reputation and was referred to me by a friend (who is by now, laughing all the way to the casino with a $100 free refer-a-friend bonus!).

I decided that seen as though I’d heard so much about City Club Casino, I’d check it all out for myself. The City Club Casino homepage is surprisingly upbeat and just has a really great look and feel that inspires an instant “buzz” from the minute you land there. A combination of eye-catching graphics and a well thought out layout make this site highly attractive but also a pleasure to navigate with all the information you need right in front of you. Even a preview of all the games is nicely set out for you to browse, so you can check out what’s on offer before signing up. Highly professional!

But, the things that really catches your eye are the High Roller bonus and the Gold Rally progressive jackpots which is apparently “about to burst”, I could resist finding out more about both of these and headed off to the promotions section of the site to learn more.

City Club Casino Bonus and Promotional Offerings

To add to the Welcome Bonuses, City Club Casino is also runs weekly promotions and this week’s special is the “Man of the Week Slots Draw” which you simply can’t miss because a rather annoying popup keeps appearing as you navigate the site…arrrggg…you just can’t kill it! Anyhow, in this competition you stand to win a share of $9,000 in total prize winnings with $4,000 as the top prize. To be eligible for this competition you must make at least one deposit at the casino and wager a minimum of $80 on slots during the promotional period and a wagering requirement of 5x the bonus is applicable before cashins will be accepted. This one really appeals to me and I think I’ll try my hand at it some time soon! Also, look out for exciting new promotions every week…you’re sure to find something you like soon enough.

In addition to the current and weekly bonuses and promotions, there are a number of ongoing promotions on offer too. These include a 10% bonus when using alternate deposit methods such as Neteller, FirePay, InstaDebit, Citadel, MoneyBookers, Wire Transfer, Click2Pay, MyCitadel or CentralCoin. Bonus terms and conditions vary according to the deposit method, so be sure to read these.

There is also the “Refer-a-friend” bonus that I mentioned earlier, where you will get paid $100 in casino cash when a friend that you refer joins the casino…in addition to this, your friend will receive $50 when they download and play at the casino…what was I waiting for??? Ah yes, first I wanted to check out the loyalty club that my friend has been droning on and on about for weeks.

Loyalty Program

Like most casinos, City Club Casino has a loyalty program in place and as you play you earn Complimentary Points (or comps) which can be redeemed for cash and determine your VIP Status. Basically, this is how it works, for every $1wagered, you earn 4 points in return whether you win or lose. Points are redeemable in units of 4,000 (the equivalent of $1) and all you have to do is login to the City club Casino Loyalty Club Manager, get cash redemption for your points and find out about your VIP player level.

There are 4 VIP levels, namely Bronze City, Silver City, Gold City or Platinum City and these will determine what exclusive bonuses, special casino events, and prestigious gifts and offers and benefits you are eligible for. Top level players are also given additional Special Offers, Faster Cash Outs, Special VIP Comp Points program, Fabulous Vacations and much more (obviously they don’t publish everything they offer for competitive reasons), but this is really a great looking Loyalty program and is backed up by a word-of-mouth reputation second to none.

Thoroughly impressed, I decided to go and claim my part of the $50 referral bonus.

Getting Started

City Club Casino offers both a Flash and Download version of their casino, I’m in the habit of downloading casino these days to ensure that I experience all of their features, but if you are on a dial up or can’t spare the disk space on your PC, the Flash versions are thoroughly enjoyable too.

Download and sign up

The download although 233KB didn’t take too long (high speed internet connections help) and I went through the sign up steps pretty quickly and before long found myself in the casino lobby which is really quite stylish and makes me want to sit up a little straighter and look the part.

Banking

I decided to deposit $100 via Neteller and made a mental note to mail support to opt out of receiving the 7 step welcome bonus…the $50 referral one suits me fine for now! The transaction was completed quickly and easily with minimum hassle and my US Dollar account was set up in not time at all, you can also play in Euros and Pounds and I’m sure that the transfers will go through as smoothly as mine did.

You can complete these using any one of the following deposit options: Credit Card, NETeller, InstaCash, Firepay, Wire Transfer, Citadel, Moneybookers, Click2Pay, ECO Card, Paysafe Card, myCitadel, UseMyBank, CentralCoin, 1Pay, and Bank Draft.

Once this was complete, I decided to mail support before I forget and ask them to reverse the 7 step bonus.

Customer Support

City Club Casino offers support 24 hours a day 7 days a week via phone, fax or e-mail. Phone numbers include toll free international numbers too which is great and gives the casino a very global feel.

I decided to drop them an e-mail detailing my request and within the hour I received a response which dealt with my request in a professional and friendly manner. While this is not the fastest response I’ve every received but it certainly was professional and my request had been executed without hassles!

Games on Offer

The games lobby of City Club casino just has an atmosphere I can’t put my finger on, it’s elegant and classy with an air of excitement. There are over 80 games on offer which including multi-player, card and table games, video poker and slots. Being a Playtech casino, they also offer the new addition Arcade games which are a great deal of fun when you feel like something out of the ordinary.

I headed off to play a couple of hands of Blackjack which has really taken my fancy lately and started off with Blackjack Switch where I won a couple of hundred dollars (yeah!), I then had to tear myself away from playing it all back again and moved on to Casino War which didn’t hold my attention for too long. So I made my way to the Roulette tables to try my luck on 18 Red, which for some reason was stuck in my head! But unfortunately, I had no luck and to console myself I decided to play Video Poker to try and recoup some of my bankroll.

After a thoroughly enjoyable experience on Megajacks and one of my all time favorites, Aces and Faces, I was back up to where I started….time for Slots!

This time round I saved the best for last. City Club Casino has all your favorite single, multi-line, video and progressive slots and you’re sure to find a few new ones to add to your list too! I had a couple of Spins on their Progressives, starting with the Gold Rally which is supposed to be “about to burst” but it wasn’t to be for me and I then moved on to Cinerama which is one of my favorites and then finished off with Fruit Mania….all with no luck!

I decided to just have some fun after that disappointment and played the arcade games for quite some time. These are highly entertaining and make a refreshing change from the norm…this time around I played Bonus Bowling, and got quite absorbed!

After a thoroughly enjoyable player experience I decided to leave the casino but did not cashout due to the fact that I had not fulfilled the wagering requirements of my bonus…but this was not a problem because I’ll definitely be back!

The Verdict

City Club Casino is definitely a casino I will visit again and is one where I’m sure there is something for everybody.

Their bonuses although attractive are subject to some pretty high wagering requirements compared to other casinos out there and their customer support has an average response time but with an amazing look and feel, easy to use functionality and professionalism being the name of the game all round, you are sure to be treated well here, which is ultimately what you’re looking for. I’d highly recommend this casino.

Be very careful with this casino. They are not clear with the terms and conditions. They will give you 400€ bonus but only for the slot machines where they know you will lose money.
Only after having 3000€ and when I tried to make a withdraw I was informed that I didn’t follow the terms and conditions and they stole all my money. They said they sent me an email with that terms and conditions but never received it.
(More detailed)
Here goes a funny story: As this was the first casino of this type I was playing I was not aware of the term minimum wagering so when I tried to make a withdrawal they not only took my 400€ sign-in bonus as they never told me that I couldn’t be playing games with that bonus other than slot machines!!!
Instead they continued to let me play. They expected maybe that I’d lose the money I had. They were wrong instead I continued to win and without a word from them.
I was approached by them several times using the chat window. Always trying to advertise all the games they have, jackpots, etc etc. I talked with some of them of the support team to see how my account was and to confirm that my wagering was completed. Never and I mean never they told me that I was doing something that I shouldn’t. And they knew the games I was playing they even asked “how was my blackjack doing?” As soon as they told me that I had completed the minimum wagering I had 3000€ available. I tried then to make a 250€ withdrawal to see how the process is done and it was at that time that they contacted me to say that since I played other games than slot machines all the winnings and bonus would be lost. So with only 100€ investment I had 3000€ in just 1 week. But after all I had nothing. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THEM.
I hate people that are not serious and especially those that treat clients like garbage, that’s the way I was treated without being flexible at any time.
These people my friend are like robbers for me. Believe me. To all the other guys that want to join me on making a complaint to the EU contact me. At least I will do everything I can to make sure that they are not allowed to have access to the European Union Market. I already contacted some people. Believe me guys, they will have problems.

Good evening, my comment is different from yours, deposited money, gave me bonus, I had to make bets for the bonus, I got money, I sent the documents and after six days paid me, I WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY.

Gavin

Totally unsatisfactory. Unsolicited bonuses and then unclear and totally non transparrant wagering requirements. I has a large win like x600 times my deposit. I want to olinechat and asked them how much more I needed to fulfill the wagering requirement and made sure I filled that. I asked them to check that everything had been fulfilled. Then I had to send in passport/ bank statement etc and proof of deposits. Then they let me withdraw about x5 my initial deposit and wipe the rest of my account clear. I asked them to send me a detailed writting statement of account showing when wagering requirements were fulfilled of not and they will net supply this. Avoid and use reputable sites.

Total scum – stay well clear

I deposited £200, and without asking for it, they added £200 bonus.

I then won, so when I paid out they said "You may lose your £200 bonus"

May days go by (I deposited more instead of reversing my withdrawal) and then I have to send docs etc.

After a few weeks I get an e-mail saying they will only pay back the original £200.

Then they had the cheek to ask me to join their VIP scheme.

They claim "City Club enjoys an impeccable reputation both in the industry and among our customers" – this is total rubbish.

If you fancy throwing your money down the drain with no chance whatsoever of winning, these are the people for you!

I have to admit, anybody preading this try stay away from city club or Tropez etc, they will do their best to bombard you with as many bonuses as they can their ridiculous wagering requirements just means you are going to lose, lose lose… I like Playtech and can recommend if you do to, stick with the professionals with the likes of Betfred, Club365 and William Hill. They are top notch and have bad and good days their. With City Club and Tropez, it's just bad, bad bad! I made a payment to City Club, the transaction did not come through but left my bank, took me three days to actually get the deposit from them in my account. When i did they wacked a £15.00 bonus on a 100 deposit, just so i had to meet the wagering requirements. When i contacted chat, they were at first all happy smiley. Then as soon as i said i would like to withdraw from the bonus, the chat disconnected offline..Pathetic. Took me two hours to get rid of that 15 bonus, then the chat guy was all nasty at the end saying you cannot pick and choose, its one or the other (which i know its not as i have played my faiir share of playtech casinos). Yes, chat ended again with have agood day and very sarcy. I got up to 250 and went to withdraw, they said because i had £1.07p left from my last deposit, i also needed t meet the wagering requirements so theystill made me play 20x dep and bonus on a 50 deposit with no bonus…And yes it went when trying to meet it. Total scam! Stay away!!!!

I have been playing at the casino for a short time – I play play money and then real money, it's amazing how much you win with play money – yet as soon as you switch to real money, you don't get a dime. I had 508 spins on one game and only got 1 bonus game – pathetic – that is the last time they will get money out of me.

lynne

when it was good it was very, very, good. (and when it was bad it was horrid)
I suspect sometimes that it is redirecting me to a ghost site and I guess withdrawing funds is tricky compared to a physical casino. But seriously, Playtech is brilliant and given endless money I would play just as much because it is fun. But who can afford it if money can only go in and not come back out sometimes.

Foppe

I would recommend you not to go gambling at cityclubcasino or one of their other casino, s, crowneurope.com and citytowercasino.com it is an scam

After I finally met the wagering, they found another reason not to pay me.
The first time I'd get, I got 115 euro bonus but 30 euro and this morning, I played and was s. shrugged that I wanted to pay more than euro profit 1970, but for the other that I did could they quickly threw out 85 euros so I no longer met the wagering.
So I had to go again to play the games, then I asked again away wagering payout to and complied when the wagering and then there was something else again.

I will put this on every imaginable forum, to protect others for these practices.

I have deposit ZAR200.00 and received my 400% bonus – thus i had ZAR1000,00. I won about ZAR15,000.00 and wanted to cashout and couldn't because of the wagering limit – I had to play ZAR20,000.00 's games – OK so I playedon and when I wanted to cash out ZAR8,800.00 they ow told me that I lost my bonus and that I could only cash out ZAR8,000.00 Keep in mind, I had to play 20x ZAR800 because of the wagering requirement and now they took this bonus away. After I cashed out, they let met know that my payout is void and thay the can only pay me ZAR2,200.00 – thus stole more than R5,800.00 from me – I would never play there again – you cannot believe this people – I am also gonna give instructions to a attorney friend of mine to proceed with the issue and service of a summons.

Cityclub casino is not to be trusted,i received an email from them about a promotion that said come in today play the gladiator and if you manage to get 2 scattered symbols within your 1st 3 spins you win $100.
I got the scatters and emailed them and they reply that i didn't receive the promotion email and i'm not entitled to the $100.So i forward the email to them that i received from them and they said they would get back to me.
When they did reply they stated i can't get the bonus because i had to play $25 per spin to be able to receive the bonus LOL..buyer BEWARE this site is terrible

Rob

Following up on my last comment about this site, they did eventually pay out my girlfriend, so I guess they're legit and I retract my previous statement.

Rob

I don't gamble online personally, but my girlfriend was playing slots at City Club Casino the other night and won a jackpot worth $8600, but when she tried to withdraw it, the transaction was declined. This site is a scam.

alan

i have played many sites and at least get some play from my money (never normally win) but city club is real bad, i deposited £110 and had 3 bonuses no more than £3. it was terrible. it gives you lots of 2 scatters but alas not 3. other sites give you more bonuses even if they are not big wins, but this was real bad, and smelt of a scam while i was playing, but alas i still gave them a chane and carried on playing. wont be coming back to this, steer clear

for the fourth time I make a deposit to this casino and get a bonus of 100%. so I play, like the other times on Marvel games and normal slots, I won 1500 euro! I make a withdraw, and read the T&C,and wagered more then 25 x. one week later I got a email that the winnings are voided! I logged in at the casino and see that they taken my 1500 euro! so I get nothing! because I was playing on ,not allowed, games ,they say.
but in the general T&C it don,t stay that you can,t play the Marvel games. not allowed games are the progressive games and card games. I won on the 26 may 2010. and what happend now, they have changed the T&C on 2 June 2010. They have stole my money, and now the manager say, when I do a deposit now with bonus, you can play also Marvel games, for withdraw! baddest casino ever, als crown europe casino,is the same.
they give me now 50 euro free, for the problems. that is nothing for the 1500 euro I lost, and all my deposits before.

my nightmare starts here
cityclub casino is a scam.. i sign up with 400% bonus.. win 57000dkk. try cash out.. but got decline as i have not meet my wager requirement. normally or other casinos they only took the bonus away and not the winnings.. but cityclub also took my winnings too. but theres no way to find out how much i have wager and how much i need to wage.. the online support is dead sometime and not 24/7 as the promise.. . i have a nightmare.. 57000dkk is like 13000NZD.. a lots of money. also if i only win 100dkk i don't think they bother to take it away.. but 57000dkk they do.

Hello, I have experienced there a very good customer support and when I asked for money the gave it to me with no problem. I will play there again.

#City club was the most dissapointing casino i have ever played at – and i have played at a lot .
I made my deposit and received my bonus – and i fully understood the wagering requirement and the fact that i could not play 'jackpot games' . I played for several days and it was great , eventually i built up a ballance of about 1000 dollars and was sure i had completed the required playthru. I emailed support and was told that playthrough was completed and i was free to withdraw all of my winnings 'at any stage' . #now i could have taken my money but figured i would be fair to the casino and so i carried on playing with what was now my money .During the fun i played queen of pyramids with my 'fully withdrawable' profits . played lots of slots , won a bit , lost a bit , took the ballance down to about 750 dollars and thought i would take my winnings ……they denied the lot and returned my original deposit and removed all my winnings – i pointed out that the funds were cleared and withdrawable but received no help….very very dissapointed.
I would say that support was prompt and efficient and informative and that the casino worked fine …if they had paid my winnings i would have been a regular depositer and played but have learnt from bitter experience that you should only play at casinos that treat you with respect.
Their crazy decision to reject $700 in proftshas probably cost them many thousands in deposits i would have made.

I finally got my deposit but it took Casinomeister’s intervention and City Club casino lost their “accredited” status with Casinomeister due to City Club’s attitude.

T Bell

After playing blackjack a bit, I realized that City Club’s maximum bet limit was quite looooow at $50. Their other card games such as baccarat and casino war were the same. I decided to forfeit my winnings ($11) and $99 bonus. I only wanted my $99 deposit back which didn’t violate anything in their T&Cs. Despite 3 withdrawal requests, an email to the ‘lobby manager’, a thread on Casinomeister, a private message to the Casino rep on Casinomeister, I have not received my deposit back.
