Established in 1996, Kahnawake Gaming Commission is authorized to regulate and license gaming activities in the Mohawk Territory. It controls both online and land-based casinos to enhance player protection.
In 1999, the commission passed its regulations concerning Interactive Gaming. Online gaming casinos that are regulated by the commission have to be located in Mohawk Territory, hosted at Mohawk Internet Technologies, and managed by Continent 8 Technologies.
For land-based casinos, the licensing body regulates three gambling activities; Raffles, Poker, and Electronic Gaming Devices.
In 2007 the commission endorsed its guidelines concerning Poker Rooms while in 2012 it enacted its Raffles gaming regulations. But it was in 2018 that they finally certified its regulations regarding Electronic Gaming Devices.
The commission has over the years handled and settled players’ disputes. You can reach the commission via an email address, fax number or by mailing your complaints to the addresses on its website.
