The “new management” at Casino Affiliate Programs reported to members this week that it has been “very busy” making navigation changes to the forum, but said little about the apparently still ongoing ownership and control dispute which has so dominated online gambling industry interest in recent months.
The very public bust-up between lead partners Warren Jolly and Lou Fabiano, which saw Jolly allegedly take unilateral de facto control of the operations of parent company Affiliate Media Inc, isolating Fabiano in the process, appears to have gone to ground. This followed threats by Fabiano that litigation was in progress and contradictory personal interviews published on the Gambling Portal Webmaster’s Association forum, where each blamed the other for the questionable activities and controversy swirling around the company.
Possibly as a consequence of these events, the CAP Euro conference scheduled for Amsterdam later this year has been taken over by former partner iGaming Business, opened to all comers and renamed Amsterdam Affiliate Conference, although CAP remains a sponsor.
Meanwhile, the nascent Gambling Affiliate Programs organisation, formed by some 60 top affiliate programs with the expressed desire to “take back control” amidst controversial program certification allegations, has announced its formation but little else, leaving a dangerous information vacuum on its intentions vis-a-vis affiliates and for that matter its own future.
In the latest CAP communication, Jolly (presumably as CEO) tells members that the forum has been made more easily navigable, the certified programs have been categorised by software for ease of reference, and a Webmaster Exchange has been added.
Perhaps of more gravitas is an appeal for opinions and suggestions from members regarding the controversial subject of affiliate program certifications.
“We are also currently taking your opinions and suggestions regarding the accreditation of affiliate programs. CAP is YOUR message board, it is supposed to help you run your business day to day, and we want to model it after your suggestions. Thanks for all the great suggestions so far, and we will do our best to shape a new system from them,” the notification advises.
“CAP is under new management and we believe that you are instrumental in making CAP the best it can be.”
