CAP Spring Break disappoints

The Casino Affiliate Programs message board over the weekend showcased what appears to be a failure of the organisation’s much hyped CAP Spring Break Cancun event for affiliate marketers.
Billed as an almost booked out gathering, the posts at CAP suggest that only 16 people made their way to the resort, only to find that promised functions had not been laid on. Those affiliates who travelled to Cancun made the best of it, joining together to make their own entertainment, but CAP’s alleged non-delivery has clearly left a sour taste for those involved despite the last minute arrival of two CAP staffers.
Whether it was poor organisation, the impact of tough economic times or the ownership hassles currently playing out at Casino Affiliate Programs and its parent Affiliate Media Inc. is not clear. Unofficial spokespersons for the company tried to put a positive spin on the failure, comparing it to the good old days when gatherings were small and social.  That did not appear to wash.
CAP and Affiliate Media Inc CEO Warren Jolly, who has been accused by partner Lou Fabiano of hi-jacking the companies, made a brief post on the relevant thread in which he advised:
“We did intend on having several fun activities and small gatherings sponsored at CAP Spring Break. Due to the recent challenges we’ve faced as well as the change in management, these events could not be organized. We intentionally didn’t cancel CAP Spring Break at the request of several people that were already attending and figured it would be a good thing to go back to the old format where it was more of an informal meetup.
“There was a miscommunication between our team and London on who would deliver this message and I do apologize if it was never sent out to the registered attendees.”
That did not appear to sit well, either.
One poster, keeping other CAP members advised of developments, commented: “It’s cost everyone thousands and has left a very bad taste in everyone’s mouths.  I feel really bad for the 11 guys (and gals) here. I thought I must have missed something here in a thread or email, but I didn’t. Thankfully we all have hooked up and most haven’t traveled 5 000 miles and an entire day to get here.”
He later added: “Well, it’s my second day here in Cancun and from my count there are 16 people here, including affiliates, aff managers and operators. There seems to be no organization whatsoever so the people here are doing what they can to coordinate themselves and get together when possible.”
Another poster noted: “Yea the turnout on this event hasn’t been the best. All sound people being here so we will probably sort something good out, but a few more people wouldn’t hurt. Not sure what else can be said about this event – its my first CAP spring break and frankly it’s been an utter dissappointment.”
Another post commented on the non-delivery of promised events, remarking: “So if you planned on doing the ‘Deep Sea Fishing’ or the ‘Jeep Safari’ or any of the other non-existant events please reconsider and let’s make the best of what we have.”
