Betfair’s latest US acquisition TVG and TrackNet Media Group LLC announced Friday a deal that allows TVG to accept online wagering on TrackNet affiliated tracks, including those operated by Churchill Downs Incorporated and Magna Entertainment Corp.
TVG customers will now be able to wager online on races from Churchill Downs and Pimlico Race Course, hosts of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, respectively. TVG and TVG.com were recently acquired by Betfair.
“We’re delighted to reach an agreement with an esteemed partner like TrackNet,” said Gerard Cunningham, president of Betfair US. “The addition of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes simplifies betting for our customers who can now wager on all three Triple Crown events from one account. This not only benefits the betting public, but also horsemen, owners and the racing industry as a whole.”
As well as accepting wagers on the Internet through TVG.com, TVG will also stream live video content of races originating from all TrackNet race tracks. As a result of the agreement, TVG’s roster of tracks available for wagering and streaming expands to include Arlington Park, Calder Race Course, Churchill Downs, Hoosier Park, Laurel Park, Lone Star Park, The Meadows, Pimlico, Pinnacle Race Course, Portland Meadows and Remington Park. HRTV will remain the exclusive television broadcast company for races originating at all TrackNet affiliated racetracks.
“Under Betfair’s new ownership, TVG has made significant strides to ensure its commitment to U.S. racing in a short time, and we’re hopeful this partnership will continue to evolve for the betterment of the sport,” said Scott Daruty, president of TrackNet Media Group, LLC. “TVG offers one of the most robust wagering platforms in our industry and we are pleased that they will now join all of the other major, national account wagering companies in offering the TrackNet content.”
