Regional flyers on the Swedish charter airline TUIfly Nordic can have a bit of a scratchcard flutter to while away the flight following a deal between in-flight retail supplier Inflight Service Europe AB and the Finnish online games operator Alands Penningautomatforening (PAF).
The agreement will make PAF’s Scratchorama scratch cards available on flights in a concept that combines an onboard lottery with PAF’s online gaming site at PAF.com and will open up a new ancillary revenue stream for airlines, a statement from the company claims. Customers will be able to win instant prizes on board as well as holidays and money through PAF.com.
“We are delighted that Inflight Service and TUIfly Nordic, as the first airline company, have chosen our Scratchorama concept,” said Anders Wiklund, Head Of Business-To-Business for PAF.
PAF boosts the idea as ‘unique’ because it closes the gap between airline companies and customers while offering a close association with charity and customer entertainment. Inflight Service Europe will test and evaluate the scheme over the coming months before recommending it to other airlines.
“The Scratchorama concept opens up a unique opportunity to boost ancillary revenue and enables post-travel revenue flow,” said Niklas Julin, Marketing Manager for Inflight Service Europe.
“It is an innovative extension to our product portfolio that we have not been able to offer our customers before. We are keen to make this a success story together with PAF and TUIfly Nordic. PAF’s 40 years of gaming experience and charity mission creates a good foundation for success.”
