Xela Holdings, owner of Asian-facing online gaming brand 138.com, has become the official shirt sponsor of the Watford Football Club’s Hornets first team.
138.com’s logo will adorn Hornets first-team and adult replica shirts for the 2013/14 season, replacing front position previously sponsored by Sports Interactive & SEGA, the producers of the Football Manager Brand.
The Football Manager Brand will remain on both playing and replica shirts but will move to the reverse of the shirt above the name of the player.
“We are delighted to be in partnership with such an ambitious club and look forward to both parties achieving success over the coming seasons,” said Xela Holdings chief executive officer and life-long Watford FC fan Garth Kimber.
Hornets’ chief executive officer Scott Duxbury added: “I would like to warmly welcome 138.com into the Watford FC family as the club’s principal partner for the 2013/14 season. “To have a global brand again associated with Watford FC is a tribute to the progress the club has made this year. “138.com is an ambitious brand and we are an ambitious football club. We are very pleased to have concluded this exciting partnership and look forward to working together in the future.”
