1xBet partnership with Lega Serie A suspended

Russian sports betting operator 1XBet’s recently announced partnership as official International Presenting Partner of Italy’s Lega Serie A was apparently short-lived following an outcry from Italian authorities who decried the deal as “unfair competition to those who work with regular state licenses”.

Curacao-licensed 1XBet does not hold Italian licensing and appears in one form or another on the Italian regulator’s blacklist.

The ink was barely dry on the 1XBet deal brokered between Italy’s Lega Serie A; sponsorship rights holding company ISGZ; and sports media and marketing company, Infront Sports & Media AG before the decision was made to suspend the contract.
