The recently announced licensing deal between Playtech and Eastern European land-based casino operator Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG) has been further clarified with new information.
Talinn, Estonia-based OEG has announced that it is to enter the virtual gambling market and will launch its first online offering by the end of 2009. The group operates casinos in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Romania, Poland and Slovakia and has its shares publicly traded on the Tallinn and Warsaw Stock Exchanges.
The company said that its principal competitive advantages are an extensive experience in casino operating, in-depth know-how of its markets and the possibility of creating synergies between the company’s regular casinos and online casinos.
OEG is betting on Estonia being a licensing and regulatory jurisdiction by January 2010 under the new Estonian Gaming Act.
