TF1 forges ahead with major French deal

News on 4 Feb 2010

It appears that the corporate struggle between executives of French commercial television group TF1 and SPS Betting, both subsidiaries of the Bouygues group did nothing to distract TF1 chief Nonce Paolini from his pursuit of online gambling deals.
This week TF1 announced an online gambling and sponsorship agreement with the French state gambling monopoly Francaise des Jeux in preparation for the liberalization of French gambling later this year.
The three-year partnership will see the giant gambling monopoly sponsor a number of TV shows on TF1 and provide a dedicated i-gaming space on the channel’s website, TF1.fr, which reaches some 15 million unique users every month.
The deal ties in nicely with other Bouygues interests like SPS Betting and Eurosport TV and Eurosportbet, an online gambling operation.
The i-gaming site on TF1 will provide lottery and sports betting products to French gamblers and the channel’s programming will include exclusive content related to betting and gaming sponsored by FdJ in time for the football World Cup in South Africa in June.  There is also some synergy in FdJ’s booming scratchcard operations, which will carry TF1 material.
