Partygaming mourns death of director

The online gambling group Party Gaming plc mourned the passing of one of its non-executive directors this week. Stephen Box died from at present unknown causes at the age of 60. He had been a director of Party Gaming since December 2007.
Rod Perry, chairman of the PartyGaming Board, said: “Our thoughts are with Stephen’s wife, children and family at this extremely difficult time. Stephen’s wealth of knowledge and experience was invaluable to the Board over the last couple of years.  His contribution, wise counsel and friendship will be sorely missed.”
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Box had wide management experience as the senior independent director and chair of the audit committee of Michael Page International plc; 25 years as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, 15 of those years as a corporate finance partner.
He was a non-executive director of Thames Water Utilities Limited and Wales & West Utilities Limited, and served as a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel. He also has experience as Finance Director of National Grid, a FTSE 100 company, from August 1997 to October 2002.
