Online gambling has proved to be a short life and an unhappy one for the unidentified owners of the Tradition online casino, a venture that launched only last year on July 20th, powered by Rival software
The operation is one of 24 similarly powered online casinos listed as owned by Rival’s UK-based
Silverstone Overseas Limited, a company widely suspected as being the software company’s white label operator.
Claiming to be the owners, clearly foreign posters located in Malta with the i-gaming.pro affiliate program have been defending the casino on various message boards in recent months as slow-pay complaints have mounted.
This week affiliates received a badly written notification that the ‘owners’ were calling it a day and leaving the operation in the hands of Rival, which they blamed for financial processing failures.
Rival casinos generally accept US-facing action, which has possibly exacerbated the situation.
The missive had bad news for affiliates, saying: “…if your own players deposited and if these deposits are held by the bank, we are not able to pay you any commission, although, like us, you worked hard. We can not endure this situation.
“Last, we can not stand to see dying Tradition casino by lack of support from the majority of our affiliate members. That said, we can not blame you, you expect a financial return as the fruit of your work, exactly as us.”
The owners go on to say that “… given that we do not want to cheat nor “shave” your stats and/or stop pay our winners, we decided to stop the bleeding by stopping now our activity.”
After attempting to resolve payment issues with Rival, the owners claim that a viable solution was not possible, leading to their withdrawal from the industry.
The affiliate program will remain operational until June 5th so that affiliates can retrieve statistical information, but honouring obligations to affiliates will be a problem faced by Rival.
What the affiliate email did not say was whether players had been kept in the loop as the situation deteriorated, leading to the casino closing.
The email is quaintly signed off with the slogan: “Better die a beggar, than live a beggar.”
This is the third online casino powered by Rival to experience problems recently. Two casinos allegedly owned by First Gaming Partners, SlotPower.com and Vanguard Casino.com are now on Rival-owned .co.uk domains and allegedly are being operated by Rival, and Tradition Casino.co.uk appears to have undergone a similar change.
