French delight

A married couple has scooped nearly GBP 4.7 million from a land casino fruit machine in France…after putting a single coin worth less that 50p in the slot!
The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, told French media reporters that they were visiting the casino in Bagneres-de-Bogorre, in the Pyrenees as part of a holiday celebrating their 13 years of marriage, and pushed the coin into the slot on a whim.
The resulting jackpot was Euro 5 512 448, a French record for the progressive, which is linked to a hundred other land casinos.
