Hot on the heels of Thursday’s announcement by Bwin Interactive that it has begun online poker operations in the French regulated market , subsidiary Ongame Network France has revealed its next sally into the sector.
Ongame announced that EurosportPoker has joined the network, which now boasts a tricolour of well respected internet poker operators, counting Bwin and Sajoo.fr, and promising strong player liquidity.
“EurosportPoker is a brand with high recognition in all of Europe, so to have them joining us together with Bwin’s player base and Sajoo’s French heritage, we hold a three of a kind that puts us in a very strong position in France”, says Martin Lerby, head of Ongame Network.
EurosportPoker is a commercial brand of SPS Betting which belongs to the leading French media group TF1 and was among the first batch of seven operators to be directly granted a licence to operate online poker by French regulator ARJEL earlier this month.
“We have a longstanding relationship with Ongame Network since launching our UK poker service, and are very happy to sign a new deal with them, this time in France,” EurosportsPoker CEO Olivier Ou Ramdane said. “We have the ambition to become one of the leading players in the French regulated poker space.”
Ongame hopes to repeat the success it has enjoyed in the regulated Italian market, and is working intensively on integrating more partners to this new regional liquidity, a spokesman said.
The company boasts one of the world’s largest poker networks and is a leading supplier of online and mobile poker software. The global network includes over 25 of the e-gaming industry’s strongest brands and operators, and up to 45,000 concurrent players at peak times during the day.
