A grandmother was among the latest 65 people detained for online gambling Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Thursday, reports the Bernama news agency, quoting police spokesmen.
Five premises were raided in Jalan Gombak, Setapak Thursday night, police operations chief Supt Maszely Minhad said, revealing that the raiding parties seized 181 computers and RM3,352 during the night time actions, which are designed to stamp out illegal World Cup internet betting..
“The five internet centres are illegal and had been raided five times previously over the last two years,” he told reporters.
Maszely said the 65 people detained include a 58 year-old grandmother who was busy gambling, seven men and an Indonesia woman.
