The Malaysian police have been active again in anti-online gambling operations, raiding 11 premises in the Seberang Perai Selatan area Thursday and arresting 35 men, 12 of them business “caretakers”.
The Malay Mail reports that the raids were carried out mid-afternoon to early evening, quoting police Superintendent Shafien Mamat as revealing that gambling materials worth about RM260,000, including 130 computers, and documentary evidence were seized.
The police spokesman also revealed that three of the arrested men had been positively blood-tested for the drug syabu (the illegal chemical stimulant Methamphetamine also known as meth, batu and sometimes ice). They would be the subject of a separate investigation, he said.
