Betfair whips up interest in football derby

This weekend’s Manchester United vs. Manchester City football clash has been enhanced by an off-the-ball competition to put together the best supporters’ chant, sponsored by betting exchange Betfair.
The betting firm appointed specialist events company Synergy to activate its campaign surrounding this weekend’s Manchester Derby.
Betfair has been offering rival fans in Manchester an opportunity to create a chant to be immortalised on a giant billboard in the city centre.
The winners were United fan Rohan David who wrote ‘MUFC – making history not buying it’, and City fan Sam Steel who hit back with ‘The past was yours but the future’s ours’.
The twin poster was overhauled again following the game to reveal the winning team’s colours – Manchester United after a last minute goal headed in 17 seconds from the end of the match by Paul Scholes – and give MU fans the final word in the derby.
