Suspected "in run" betting gambler ejected from Aussie tennis match

In a reprise of a similar incident last year, when European gamblers using laptops and mobiles were ejected from a major tennis match, an alleged mobile better was removed from a Brisbane International tennis tournament match last week.
The spectator was removed by tournament security staff last for transmitting information via a mobile phone, the Couriermail newspaper reports.
Tennis Australia and Brisbane tournament director Steve Ayles declined to confirm or deny the report, and he was backed by TA chief Steve Wood who said: “Our policy is not to comment on such queries – we don’t confirm or deny any incidents.”
The issue surfaced when a fellow spectator contacted the Couriermail, revealing that he had reported a man watching a match who had been repeatedly speaking on a mobile phone between points.
In a related statement, Australian Open officials said that the use of mobile phones at Melbourne Park will be under intense scrutiny in the first Grand Slam to be played under the auspices of the International Tennis Integrity Unit.
Australian Open officials have hired a security organisation for a second year to monitor spectators for evidence of betting and have also banned the use of laptops.
