The marginal business returns in social real-money gaming and the imminent impact of Britain’s soon-to-be-implemented point of consumption licensing and tax laws are believed to be factors behind 888’s decision this week to pull its Magic 888 Casino app off Facebook after just five months of operation.
That said, 888 has confirmed that it is to continue offering its popular Bingo Appy real-money game, which has been performing well since launch eighteen months back.
The 888 decision follows similar conclusions reached by Gamesys earlier this year when it removed its Bingo and Slots Friendzy app from the real-money social gaming environment, and Big Fish Gaming’s abandonment of a real-money partnership with Betable (see previous reports).
