The successful Italian mobile operator Buongiorno is to extend its offering following an online casino deal with gambling software developer Playtech plc.
Buongiorno is a mobile entertainment company, providing a wide range of mobile content to more than 300 million users in 57 countries around the world. It already offers Italian online players poker and bingo under its increasingly popular Winga brand, in full compliance with the Italian regulations set out by AAMS.
Under the agreement announced this week, Playtech will provide Buongiorno with its online casino product, to be launched in Italy following the regulation of online casino gaming, expected in early 2011. A range of innovative products and services, including mobile games, will set Winga’s offering apart, and bring new ways of playing to the Italian market, a company spokesman disclosed.
Andrea Casalini, chief executive at the mobile group said: “Buongiorno’s e-gaming offering, Winga.it is set to develop in two directions in the coming few months, once [Italian] regulations allow.
“Firstly, via the expansion on our existing gaming offering, to include lotteries, casino games and more; this is where our casino agreement with Playtech will play a key part, enabling this exciting expansion to happen. Secondly, the provision of the Winga offering on the mobile channel, leveraging Buongiorno’s ten years of experience in this sector.’
Playtech CEO, Mor Weizer, said: “This agreement is a significant step forward for Playtech in Italy. Given Buongiorno’s historic mobile expertise, it is also an excellent opportunity to implement some unique technologies for the Italian market, as Playtech’s cross-platform capability fits very well with Buongiorno’s business model. We look forward to developing this relationship in the coming months.”
