One of the three high-profile persons fronting for Sheldon Adelson’s Coaltion to Stop Internet Gambling, former Arkansas Senator Blanche Lincoln, is to enjoy even closer ties to the billionaire land casino baron following the hiring of her lobbeying company, Lincoln Policy Group.
The Washington DC newspaper Politico reports that public records show Lincoln and her former chief of staff Robert Holifield will work on the Las Vegas Sands account as part of Adelson’s bid to federally ban online gambling in the United States.
Adelson argues that Internet betting is bad for society and could put the traditional land casinos out of business.
Lincoln represented Arkansas in the Senate between 1999 and 2011. She formed her own lobbying firm in 2013.
