Sports data and digital content provider Sportradar has collaborated with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to launch a new AFC integrity mobile application enabling stakeholders to report suspicious betting activities or match-fixing information with ease.
Fans, players and officials are able to make reports in real time using their mobile devices enhancing the AFC Integrity Unit’s detection abilities, intelligence network and response time.
The app, available for free-download for iOS and Android platforms, forms part of a wider integrity initiative and complements the AFC’s new integrity section on the-AFC.com
“The survival of all sports, not just football, depends significantly on our ability to preserve and protect the values of fair play and honesty,” AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said in a press statement. “Under the banner of One Asia, One Goal, the AFC has reinforced the importance to safeguard the integrity and uphold the highest professional standards in all our competitions.
The partnership between AFC and Sportradar, which has assisted in uncovering several match-fixing cases in the past year, encompasses more than 4,500 matches across Asia annually.
