The American Gaming Association spent $360 000 – an increase over the $326 000 it spent last year in the same period – in Q2/2010 lobbying, mandatory disclosure filings have revealed.
However, the Q2 spend is considerably lower than Q1/2010’s expenditure on lobbying which amounted to $430 000.
The Association represents major land casino operations in the US and has most recently adopted a neutral political stance on the legalisation of online gambling in the United States. Its current lobbying spend indicates an interest in online poker among other gambling issues.
The expenditure was incurred in Congressional lobbying in the April through June period, the House clerk’s office records reveal
The association’s members include some of the United States’ biggest gambling groups, including Las Vegas Sands Corp., MGM Mirage, Boyd Gaming Corp., International Game Technology, Harrah’s Entertainment Inc., and Bally Technologies Inc.
