Montreal-based Amaya Gaming Group has had a busy week announcing the official launch of a short message service (SMS) game in Uganda titled “Yoola Obukadde SMS Game”.
“This launch is an exciting milestone for Amaya,” said David Baazov, president and chief executive officer of Amaya Gaming Group. “Our previous experience deploying similar SMS solutions validates the effectiveness of our technology and the strong market demand for such a service.”
With over 10 million Ugandan mobile phone users, the company expects successful results based on a similar SMS lottery campaign launched in Kenya earlier this year that exceeded expectations with entries peaking at over 200 000 per day said a company spokesperson.
The Ugandan game launch follows the news of a national Armenian lottery deal announced just this week .
