Rafi Ashkenazi, the temporary chief executive of online gambling group Amaya Inc., has announced that the company’s online sports betting subsidiary BetStars is ready to expand its operations to the Italian and French markets in time for the Euro 2016 football championships starting second week in June.
In an investor update, Ashekenazi said Management has been impressed with the relatively new subsidiary’s performance and its reception by punters following the company’s investment of GBP 10 million in marketing for the brand and its uniquely successful “Spin and Bet” feature. This would be carried into the French and Italian market venture, he said.
Future planning included penetration of the Portuguese and Danish sports betting markets, he revealed.
