The American Gaming Association, trade body for the nation’s land gambling operators, is gearing up for a PR campaign designed to coincide with the 2016 presidential elections and ensure that candidates fully understand the importance of gambling to the US economy.
Unveiling its “Gaming Votes” campaign this week, the Association claimed that the industry has a positive impact on the middle class and the economy of America.
AGA president and CEO Geoff Freeman said that in the electoral battleground states, the gaming industry supports more than 500,000 jobs and $75 billion in economic activity, and that the Association intends to “engage and mobilize” gaming employees to see that candidates are aware of issues that are important to the industry.
