The trade association for most of the major land gambling groups in Nevada, the American Gaming Association, has updated its advertising guidelines for member companies, acknowledging the importance of social and digital marketing and urging caution against ads that may be construed as targeting the under aged, and those that suggest that success and popularity may flow from gambling.
The update also urges member companies to maintain acceptable standards of good taste, and recommends the inclusion of a toll-free help line in adverts.
CEO Frank Fahrenkopf said that it was appropriate that the Association update its ten-year-old guidelines to encompass modern media and the changes in communications and society.
