Another long service Ladbrokes manager, retail operations head Lee Drabwell is departing the group after 29 years’ service.
The announcement of his departure follows that of 45-year employee Graham Sharpe, media relations director, earlier this week (see previous report.)
Ladbrokes Coral management has handed the responsibility for retail operations over to Andy Hicks, who previously headed retail betting at Gala Coral before the Ladbrokes-Coral merger. Drabwell will assist in the handover in the immediate future, the company confirmed.
Drabwell does not intend to retire; in an interview with Racing Post he revealed that he will seek new challenges in the betting and gaming industry after taking a well-earned short rest
The split appears to be amicable, judging by group CEO Jim Mullen’s farewell comments lauding Drabwell’s “significant” contribution to the business and wishing him well.
