Pennsylvania’s thorough and professional assessment of internet gambling possibilities continues today (Wednesday) with another political hearing, this one by the Senate Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee chaired by Senator Kim Ward.
Sen. Ward is pro-legalisation in the state and is the author of SB900 which seeks to achieve that objective, confining licensing to existing land casino operators .
Among the witnesses listed to give testimony is the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Recent studies have indicated that an intrastate online gambling market could add ten percent more revenue to Pennsylvania’s overall gambling industry, currently estimated at around $3 billion annually, boosting tax receipts.
