Tristan Sjöberg has resigned from Betsson AB’s Board of Directors at his own request, explaining that he is in a legal dispute with Swedish tax authorities regarding tax liability.
The Betsson board communicated the news in a terse one-liner press statement Thursday morning.
Sjöberg joined the Betsson board as a director in May, having worked in the gaming industry for 20 years.
Last month, Betsson announced the departure of CFO Kaaren Hilsen, who decided to leave one year after taking the role in order to become CEO at Swedish Telecoms provider Telenor, although she is required to work a six-month notice period, with the search for her successor already underway.
