Aquila Global gaming group claims first Colombian online license

Aquila Global Group’s Wplay.co is the first online operator to be licensed to serve the Colombian market by gambling authority ColJuegos.

Wplay.co is of Colombian origin and has been certified by BMM Testlabs, the regulator said. The company expects to create around 3,000 employment opportunities, directly or indirectly, and is aiming to meet a one million registered user milestone by the end of its first three-year licensing term.

ColJuegos reminded its 325-page blacklist will be published in the next few days identifying operators it considers to be operating in the market illegally.

“We are aware that the fight against illegality is not an easy task and less so with regard to technological platforms. That is why we are working in an articulated way with the National Police and the Ministry of Defense,” ColJuegos’ Pérez Hidalgo said.

“We want more operators to obtain authorization from Coljuegos to achieve a strong sector and in tune with the new technologies.”
