Texas-based e-sports gaming startup Arena Online has successfully raised $750,000 in seed funding led by “a couple of key investment voices in the Houston market” business incubator START Houston, and founder of investment firm, Presidio Venture Capital.
Arena Online will use the funds to complete development of its website and online multiplayer e-sports gaming platform which offers users automatic connectivity into tournament gameplay, pairing with players and teams of similar skill levels.
The company, founded by Alan Hubbard, aims to bring competitive eSports tournaments to online gamers – beginning with League of Legends by Riot Games.
“We are trying to fill a big need in the eSports world, so it was easy for investors to see our path,” Hubbard said.
