The French online gambling regulator ARJEL (L’Autorité de Régulation des Jeux en Ligne) is showing increasing interest in the marketing behaviour of licensees, and has announced a collaborative partnership with the its counterpart in the French advertising industry, l’Autorité de Régulation Professionnelle de la Publicité (ARPP).
The agreement covers the exchange of information with a view to tightening controls on internet gambling marketing activity, and improving communications between gambling operators and the two regulatory bodies.
Marketing controls – especially in regard to problem gamblers – were part of 33 recommendations submitted by ARJEL in May this year following a study of the French online gambling industry .
