Jean-François Vilotte, president of the French online gambling regulatory body L’Autorité de régulation des jeux en ligne (ARJEL), will reportedly step down in January 2014 to enter the private sector.
Vilotte was integral in the lead up to and the opening of the French online gambling market in 2010 and is a proponent of shared liquidity in other regulated markets as well as a change in the current tax regime.
A press conference will reportedly be held this week providing more information on Vilotte’s move and succession plans.
