More arrests in Rhode Island

Illegal online sports betting enterprises are having a tough time in the US state of Rhode Island this week, with State Police reporting Thursday that another illegal internet betting ring has been shuttered with the arrest of nine people on charges that include running online betting activities, maintaining gambling venues and illegal bookmaking.

Our readers will recall that earlier this week 17 individuals were arrested on internet gambling and conspiracy charges, although State Police have revealed that the current busts are not associated with that organised crime ring.

The publication Lottery Post has identified those arrested in the latest, Providence-based raid as:
