The online gambling information site Ask Gamblers.com has released statistics on its player dispute service, advising that in 2016 5,268 complaints were lodged by 3,800 players.
The complaints involved 613 different online casinos, and of the total complaints lodged Ask Gamblers accepted 2,300 for investigation and mediation. 70 percent of these cases were resolved within an average of 8 business days, although the press release from Ask Gamblers does not disclose details of how many resolutions were in favour of the player.
Interestingly, the press release notes that Ask Gamblers introduced a new feature in 2016 that allows what it terms “industry professionals” (presumably affiliate marketers) to lay complaints against affiliate programs.
“Even though the AskGamblers Casino Complaint Team implemented new and stricter complaint reviewing procedures, last year’s record was still surpassed and the Complaint Team managed to return to players over $2,7 million of unpaid, delayed or unfairly confiscated money. The amount, combined with the money returned up until that point and since, has thus far reached an impressive $8,8 million,” says Dimitar Dimitrov, head of customer support, in the company statement.
