Figures for January released Tuesday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement show that Atlantic City’s online gambling revenues have continued to trend upward, rising 28.6 percent year-on-year to $18.8 million and making a real contribution to land operator profits.
The state government did not do too badly either, harvesting tax of $16.5 million for the month.
The online casino vertical again led the trend, with revenues up by almost a third y-o-y at $16.4 million, whilst online poker rose 8.7 percent to around $2.3 million in an improved performance over December.
Top operator was again Golden Nugget, which generated $4.77 million from its online casino activity, followed by Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey on $4.03 million, and the Borgata on $3.77 million. Pokerstars‘ New Jersey partner Resorts Digital Gaming delivered revenue of $3.16 million, and the Tropicana $3.08 million.
The Atlantic City land casino revenues were up 5.9 percent year-on-year at $185.9 million.
Including online gambling revenue the total was $204.7 million, a 7.7 percent rise on January 2016 numbers.
