The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement released April’s numbers for Atlantic City Thursday, reporting that land casinos as a whole took in $260.6 million, a 10 percent decline from a year ago.
Slot machine revenue fell 9.2 percent, to $189.5 million, while table game revenue decreased by 12.1 percent, to $ 71.1 million.
The Tropicana Casino and Resort bucked the trend, tripling its winnings from last April. Overall, the casino’s revenues were up nearly 39 percent, to $26.7 million.
The only other casino to post a revenue increase was the Golden Nugget, whose $11 million winnings were up 1 percent from a year ago.
Biggest loser for the month was decline was The Atlantic Club, which took in $8.3 million in April, down more than 41 percent from the $14.1 million it won last year when it was known as the Atlantic City Hilton.
