A gambling study carried out by researchers at the Curtin and Deakin universities has revealed that Australians believe betting is now an integral part of sports, according to a 9 News report Monday.
Three out of four children and 90 percent of adults believe sports betting is becoming a normal part of sport, the survey found after interviewing a sample of over 150 Aussie attending football matches.
Young NRL and AFL fans were significantly more likely to remember seeing sports betting advertisements compared with their soccer-loving counterparts, with young sports fans describing betting in sport in terms of “everyone does it” and “heaps of people do it.”
