The Austrian Regional Court of Wiener Neustadt will have gambling firms sweating after ruling in favour of an Austrian gambling addict and awarding Euro 2,009,100 plus interest in compensation, a France24 report reads.
A psychiatric-neurological expert’s testimony claimed around Euro 2 million in bets made over a 10-year period should be made invalid as the man was “partially incapacitated” by his addiction.
Novomatic has lodged an appeal on the ruling.
