Azerbaijan empowers govt agencies

Trans-continental Azerbaijan has granted its Ministry of Communication and High Technologies, the Ministry of Taxes and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which include Police authorities, additional powers to carry out preliminary investigations into illegal lottery and sports betting.

Prior to the amendments, Azerbaijani’s Ministry of Taxes was the sole agency in the country authorised to deal with these issues.
