Following today’s (Tuesday) announcement of a partnership with 888 Holdings’ B2B arm Dragonfish for the US market, Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE) has announced another long-term strategic partnership with Groupe Lucien Barrière SAS and its Barrière Poker (BP) operation.
CIE and BP have an existing relationship initiated in January 2010 that covers the promotion and organisation surrounding exclusive WSOP Europe events in France.
The new technology agreement will build on the existing relationship with a view to exposing WSOP Europe to other regulated markets within Europe through the development of a proprietary poker platform.
“The objective of Barrière Poker is to continue to advance on the French market and it will allow us to accelerate and anticipate international developments,” said Stephen Xavier, president of Barrier Poker.
Mitch Garber, chief executive officer of CIE, said: “Having reached an initial agreement for the WSOP Europe, we are now happy to build with LB Poker an online strategy through long-term co-development of a proprietary poker platform. The potential for this French technology by LB Poker will help us accelerate our strategy of developing our brands in the online environment in all countries where poker is or will be legal. “
