Claiming that it is the first dedicated store for real-money gaming apps on Android, the UK start-up Betcade officially opened for submissions from developers this week, saying in a statement that its dedicated iStore has been purpose built for real money gaming and will help developers reach a much wider audience by providing discovery, download management and payment solutions.
Operators who submit their apps will be featured in the store when it launches to consumers in summer of 2016, the statement notes.
The company pledges that players will benefit from a high quality, licensed apps source that will be approved for entry, while operators can trust that their brand will appear in a premium environment.
The Betcade platform’s streamlined payment system means that with a single tap, users can make secure deposits directly into their game without having to leave the gaming environment…a feature equally beneficial to the operator as it can address a number of important business concerns including retention rates and onboarding.
Betcade founder and CEO David Chang was Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Industry Relations at Gamblit Gaming, a software development company focused on new technology for land-based and mobile gaming experiences. Prior to Gamblit Gaming, he was founder and CEO of mobile game companies Gamiker Inc and OnNet Europe GmbH.
In a statement Wednesday, Chang explained:
“People overwhelmingly prefer mobile apps over the browser experience: the time spent in apps now surpasses the time spent in browsers. However, there is currently no efficient mechanism in place for discovery or distribution for real money apps the way that there is for every other app category. Betcade will streamline the download, install, and update apps and remove payment friction.“
