Betclic to transfer elements away from Gibraltar?

In an attempt to optimise its operational structure, Betclic Everest senior managers are reportedly about to review the company’s Gibraltar-based online gambling elements, which focus on the company’s sport trading and administrative functions.

Media reports are suggesting that the review could see the transfer of some functions from Gibraltar to Malta, where the company has a strong operational base, as management tries to rationalise business activities and cut costs, and there are indications that up to fifty Gibraltar jobs could be at risk of transfer.

Regulatory changes in Europe may require a second look at Betclic Everest’s licensing with the Gibraltar regulator, observers have suggested.
