Betfair has extended its existing relationship with the British Amateur Boxing Association (BABA) in a sponsorship deal announced this week.
The sponsorship covers both men and women’s GB Boxing teams, who will appear at a series of promotional events to raise awareness of the Betfair partnership, in which the online betting exchange has been named BABA’s Official Gaming Partner.
Betfair’s original agreement with BABA was initiated late last year with the company’s sponsorship of the GB Amateur Boxing Championships held at York Hall in London.
Derek Mapp, executive chairman of BABA said: “Betfair’s decision to extend its relationship with GB Boxing is a sign of its confidence in both the GB Boxing team and the health of the amateur sport in this country where it is delivering success at both the grassroots and the elite level.”
Five members of the GB Boxing squad have qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games and six of the GB Boxing Squad are ranked in the top five in the world in their respective weight categories.
