The Betfair online casino software deal with Playtech will come to fruition at the end of August with the launch of the latter’s new Flash-based product, the two companies announced this week.
Playtech has provided Betfair’s internet casino software in download format since November 2009 and now adds a complementary flash-based offering, making it the sole provider on Betfair’s casino tab.
Betfair’s players will have access to a wide range of flash-based games including a substantial portfolio of branded content available in both formats, embracing recent launches such as Rocky and Pink Panther.
Flash players make up in excess of 75 percent of Betfair’s casino activity, and the company will be able to manage these through the same operating platform, creating much greater opportunities for cross selling and enhanced bonusing and VIP management tools, together with a single casino wallet.
Mor Weizer, chief executive officer of Playtech, commented: “This is a significant expansion of our casino relationship with Betfair as the flash format makes up the substantial portion of their player’s activity. We have very much enjoyed working with the Betfair team over the past year and this move will be a step change in our relationship as we become their exclusive casino tab supplier, and an important new revenue stream for us”.
Sam Hobcraft, Head of Gaming Products, at Betfair said: “We chose Playtech for our casino offering for the quality and range of their games together with the opportunity to add further products over time. Since launching the download format with Playtech at the end of 2009 we have developed a strong working relationship and look forward to furthering this over the coming years.”
“Combining both flash and download casino formats on Playtech’s platform delivers significant benefits to Betfair and our players. We substantially increase the content available across the platform, achieve a single casino player wallet and the potential to enhance player values through an integrated platform and management tools.”
