Betfred and Ladbrokes sign sponsorship deals with PDC

Betfred has secured a new three-year title sponsorship of the Professional Darts Corporation’s (PDC) second longest-running tournament, the World Matchplay.  Next year’s tournament runs from July 20-28 and will enjoy a GBP 200,000 increase in prize money to a record GBP 700,000.

“We have always enjoyed a great working relationship with Barry Hearn so I am delighted to have agreed a deal to link up with Barry and the PDC to sponsor one of the biggest tournaments in world darts,” Fred Done, co-owner of Betfred, said.

Additionally, Ladbrokes has agreed a four-year multi-event sponsorship with the PDC covering the Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals, The Masters and the UK Open.

“It’s wonderful to be working with Ladbrokes again and this deal shows their ongoing commitment to a wide range of PDC tournaments,” said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.

“Ladbrokes have a long-held association with the PDC and this deal will showcase their brand across three of our biggest televised events over the next four years.”
