Founders and owners of gambling firm Betfred and Peninsula Business Services have expanded their business portfolio by backing Active Win Media Limited, a new digital media and marketing start-up based in Manchester
The business, founded by managing director Warren Jacobs, originally from Tel Aviv, aims to build a dedicated workforce of 50 staff over the next 10 months to provide marketing services and traffic development for online and mobile operations.
Jacobs, who previously held a deputy brand manager position for Chevy, Buick and Vauxhall, spent the next nine years as one of the original team at gaming firm Europartners which was reportedly acquired by Playtech Plc for GBP 230 million.
Active Win Media’s mission is to drive traffic, build affiliate networks and manage online media using a business model that operates at low cost and low risk for the customer.
Betfred will utilise marketing services from the standalone company for its Betfred.com online and mobile business saying it is one of a number of new ventures the Done brothers will be backing.
“The idea is to provide exciting new businesses with the tools they need for rapid growth and success which may include funding, office space, IT, HR etc but most importantly the mentoring and guidance we are able to provide with 50 years of experience building businesses in the UK and the North West,” said Fred Done.
Chris Sheffield, managing director of Betfred.com added, “Warren is one of the best in the industry and this is a very exciting project. Mobile in particular, is highly specialized but growing very quickly and already accounts for over 50 percent of Betfred.com profit and as a catalyst in this space the gaming industry is being transformed by the usage of mobile devices. Active Win Media are already making a huge impact after only 4 weeks driving thousands of new customers to our website and mobile apps and I am certain other customers in the gaming space and other sectors such as e-commerce, travel, finance, distance shopping etc will benefit from these services as well.”
