Brit land and online bookmaker Betfred has offered to sell a betting shop in each of the 25 areas where regulators are concerned about competition following the gambling company’s recent takeover of the Tote from the government.
Before the Office of Fair Trading can approve the Tote deal, Betfred will have to relinquish the 25 betting outlets in areas where the competition element is a concern.
The company has a total of 840 betting shops throughout the United Kingdom, with the Tote adding a further 517 outlets to that if the deal is approved.
