European online sports betting and e-gaming operator BetOlimp has launched a Twitch-inspired live video streaming service for the 2016 UEFA European Championships.
The initiative went live in partnership with Leeds-based content and digital media specialist Independent Content Services Limited (ICS).
The live ‘in-play betting’ companion video streaming service provides on-demand video content presented by a real team of individual sports experts and statisticians who analyse in-play betting and cash-out opportunities along with match commentary for football punters’ for all 51 Euro 2016 matches during the 90 minutes of the game.
The stream begins approximately 5 minutes before the scheduled Euro 2016 match kick-off time and ends when the final whistle is blown. The service is currently available in English and German respective language versions.
“We have all seen the explosive growth of real-time in-game video broadcasting on streaming platform Twitch, which has helped grow eSports,” explained Mark McGuinness, chief marketing officer at BetOlimp. “If you combine this with the fact that 74% of all internet traffic in 2017 is forecast to be video content along with 65% of video viewers, watch more than 3/4 of a video. Then include in-play and cash-out, the two most popular sports betting products, it’s not rocket science to provide a video-based betting companion entertainment service to meet what punters’ want.”
BetOlimp has heavily invested in its product, most recently with the launch of content from Spanish online gambling software provider Optima (see previous reports).
